Hello America,
Just wanted to sit down and have a little discussion about whats been going on lately. You see, I think there is a little confusion over our constitution. The first amendment clearly states that:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”
America is not a Christian nation, just because the majority may believe of a little invisible man up in the sky doesn’t mean that everyone does, and its the job of the constitution and the government to protect this minority.
See, just ‘cause your god says I can’t love/marry a woman does’t mean that it should be a law in our country. It’s OUR country filled with a huge mixture of different races, cultures, religions, so forth. I am an atheist and my morals say that it’s ok for a man to marry a man or a woman to marry a woman. Hey, if they love each other why not? I do not see how gay marriage is effecting anyone but those who wish to get married, they are not forcing their beliefs on straights or Christians
I will use my right to exercise my religion (or lack there of) and marry a woman if I wish.
Oh and the whole sanctity of marriage bull shit excuse I keep hearing.. how sanctified is a 24 hour marriage by some celebrity? Or how about the 40-50% divorce rate? I’m sure all those single parents out there would love to hear about how their children will grow to be messed up adults without the absent mother/father.
Thanks America, that was a nice little chat wasn’t it?
From, a morally sound atheist who doesn’t give a damn who you love
